Police say a suspected burglar who was arrested and released without bail barely made it out of the police station before committing another crime.
They say Jonathan Martin, 27, of Peekskill broke into a home on Seymour Lane by forcing his way inside. Police say Martin then made his way into one of the bedrooms, where he requested money from a teenager.
The victim was able to get away and call police. Martin was arrested at the scene.
Police say during his arrest, officers found a coin purse that was stolen from a car on nearby Highland Avenue the same night.
After Martin was arrested and released under the state's new bail reform laws, they say he shattered the glass on the police station's door.
